Wattlas is a free, public map of the North American electric grid on a 3D globe. It draws transmission lines, power plants, substations, data centers and market boundaries from public sources such as EIA, HIFLD, USGS and OpenStreetMap, and has an AI assistant that answers questions about the map.
The map needs JavaScript and WebGL. Without them you can still read where its data comes from on the Data sources page, the Terms of Use and the Privacy Notice. Made by Simple Thread.
This browser doesn't seem to support WebGL. Try a current version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge.
Explore the largest machine on Earth. Follow high-voltage lines across the continent to the power plants that feed them and the data centers that draw on them.
